First World problems

I was speaking with my daughter this morning and our conversation went south. We began by talking about vitamin info I learned at my Wellness class yesterday. I told her she needed to supplement her amino acids as she is a vegan and not eating meat or dairy. "Oh mom, I'm fine" was her reply. "I am only 25 and not cataloging my vitamin intake as you are". "Just trying to share what I learned" I replied. So Tom pipes in "Eat fish!" This prompts Sam to go on a tirade concerning pollutants in the water, mercury levels in fish, etc... Tom says "Well it's not like eating paints chips off the wall". Then he proceeds to bash media and medical science by saying it wasn't like he and his sibling spent the day gnawing on the window ledge growing up. "I'm healthy. Don't see what the problem is". Now I am getting a little frustrated. "Just because you didn't grow up poor with paint peeling of the walls, doesn't mean there aren't hungry children out there who are not eating paint chips". Both Tom and Sam are now laughing. "Fine", I say. "This is why I am going into the field I am studying because of you all you paint chip haters in the world." Great. Now they are laughing heartily. Then Sam shares one of her pet peeves with me. "Mom, I hate when they say real Americans in the media. What, are there some Americans that aren't really American and are there places in the United States where some Americans are more American than others? Wow, what a great pet peeve. So I share my number one pet peeve "ABC gum" (already been chewed) and I share how right after I bought my new car, I stepped in ABC gum and drug it right into the car, dirtying the new floor mats. Laughing, Sam says "Geeze mom, sounds like a first world problem to me". Sigh...... I refresh me coffee, obviously my brain has been overexercised and taxed..... So now I have a question for all my readers: What are your First World Problems? Andi Out.

*F* over for Tom

Hello all. Well, my "HoneyDo" list is still incomplete and Tom has been called back to work (with no paycheck of course). What is a wife to do?? It is super frustrating that our government is still pointing fingers instead of putting in a full days work. I have heard/read people are not going to vote this coming election because of our weak government. I say to all of you" VOTE!!!". Let's have our voices heard and remove these bozo's to get rid of the stink in the pond. Andi out.

*F* Day 3.5

Hi all. Well yesterday turned out much better than we all planned. It was kind of nice having lunch with Tom on the back deck and enjoying some quiet daytime moments together. He kept busy working on my "HoneyDo" list, found a reason to jump on his bike for an errand, and then hunkered down to watch some football. He even saw our nephew on T.V. at the game! This morning he lounged under the blankets with a cup a Java and spoke with our daughter who lives in Hawaii. It is a great day to stay warm. Yesterday he said "This is what it will be like when I retire". Well, he already retired once and is still working full time. Here is my future prediction: He will retire again and then find another job that he loves to keep himself busy. Maybe he will move to part time but I just don't see him spending all his time at home and on his motorcycle. Hmmmm... Maybe he will attach a trailer to his bike and take long road trips? Without me :) Either way, it is nice to have him at home. I think I can get used to this.

Furlough *F* Day 2.5

This morning I woke up and I was not alone in my bed. My husband Tom was beside me, reading the news on his phone. Typically he is already at work when I roll out of bed. "Good Morning" he says with a smile. I am not a morning person. I may have grunted at him or mumbled something, I can't remember. I went to pet my cat Jasmine who was sitting on my stomach and she bit me while glaring at Tom. "He is not supposed to be here" her glare shouted. I got up and went down stairs to make coffee and let the dog out. Typically we (Cooper the dog and Jasmine) sit together outside for my first cup of coffee. I let us all outside and sit down for morning meditation. Cooper does his business and runs back inside. Jasmine follows wondering where the heck Cooper has gone. Cooper is upstairs, lounging with Tom. I sit there alone with my steaming cup of Java and realize my day is going to be very different. This is *F* Day 2.5. Yesterday, *F* Day 1.5 was not too bad. Tom jumped on his motorcycle around 10am and I didn't see him again till this morning. I had class last night and left home at 3:30ish and he came home at 4ish. *F* Day .5 he spent eating *F* pancakes with his *F* buddies, came home and took a *F* nap. Sitting here, I hear rattling going on in the kitchen. Is he doing dishes?? He comes into the computer room where I am sitting showing me his new toy: a light bulb changer on a pole. He models the poles ability to reach any bulb by stretching the pole out to about 14 feet. I dug as he swings it around. He is very proud of this new purchase which he bought with a gift card (Thanks Nikki). "Wow, that's neat" I say, warily watching him reduce the pole to a safe length. "It's so easy, even you can do it" he says with a smirk. Yeah, I'll get right on it. Typically it is quiet here in my daytime world. Currently, he is speaking on the phone with someone. It's odd to hear his voice. I am not sure how this day will play out. Stay tuned to my new *F* world.

Readers' Favorite book contest

Here it is, Spring again!!  Except for the snow all around me, I think I can smell it in the air.  What a better time for a new start than Spring?  So here I go again, picking up where I left of last year and getting my writing motor in gear.  I have entered one book in a contest and am getting one reviewed.  Hopefully this will help motivate me to press on.  I am rereading a story I have been working on for round two of revisions.  Any aspiring authors out there looking to work together in a small crit group?    Let me know.  The contest for books is at the Readers Favorite Book Reviews and Award Contests.  Copy the link below to get to the site.
